Much Better in Person! Awesome Chronograph
Love the look and feel of this Chronograph. It truly is much better looking in person, and I went out and bought the black faced one as well. The Sapphire glass is extremely scratch resistant and so far after 2 years of wearing it as my everyday business watch, no scratches on the face. Truly awesome given the abuse i make my watches go through. Very happy with this purchase, and has made me seek out other Invicta branded watches/chronographs as well. Looks just like a Rolex Daytona, but costs $11,300 less. :2011-08-16 22:52:12

Great watch for the money
I have owned a Rolex Sub for the past 20 years and it has been an excellent watch. I wanted a watch which I could wear for everyday and save the Rolex. The Invicta Speedway looked like the perfect stand-in. When it arrived I was impressed at the packaging.
The weight of the watch was perfect. It has a feeling of quality. The band was easy to size and certainly has weight. In fact I like it better than the Rolex. To replace the band on the Sub is around $500, I could purchase 5 of these watches for that.
The dials are easy to set and it keeps better time than the Rolex. This is to be expected with quartz compared to an automatic movement.
I doubt you could find a better value than this Invicta. I plan to order others in the future. :2011-08-16 22:51:48

Invicta Speedway Chronograph
I recieved this watch as a gift several months ago. The watch is very nice looking, much better looking in person. Mine hasn't had any issues with timekeeping, it's been very accurate. I haven't experienced the problems others have.

The face of the watch is nearly impossible to scratch. There's been several times where I've accidently rubbed the face against a wall or other surface only to find no damage, much to my surprise. Other watches I've had scratch within the first week. I've had this watch for about 6 months and have no face scratches (although around the face and on the band show many scratches, not nearly as annoying as a scratch right on the face). I'm serious, I like to party and the face is still scratchless. This is very surprising to me.

The chronograph functions are almost entirely useless, but who cares. A stopwatch without fractions of a second is not worth using, but with this watch the features are more for looks, and they look great. I don't find this to be a big deal since I would rather not have digital functions on my watch, they look tacky in my opinion. Also my cell phone has a great stop watch funtion which I use for 12 ounce beer chug time trials making this complaint almost inconsiquential.

The movement of the watch leaves a little to be desired. The japaneese movement is somewhat jumpy. At this price you really can't expect an automatic movement however. This is really the biggest weak point of the watch and if you have a bunch of cash burning a hole in your pocket, maybe you should get a swiss automatic movement watch. This is a somewhat minor issue given almost all watches in this price range use japanees movements no normal person will ever know the difference.

This watch is about the same price as a cheap fossil watch but when you see it in person it feels and looks much more expensive. The fit and finish is much more than you would expect for $115. I find it to be a great value. The box it comes in is so nice you don't want to throw it away, I still have mine. I wear this watch every day I still recieve compliments on it. :2011-08-16 22:51:22

Excellent watch for the price
This is a cool watch for the price it is sold at. I have a few fossils, a few siekos and a kenneth Cole - all in the 100 dollar range. The Invicta is the best of the lot. It is elegant, shows no scratches and catches the eye everytime. Its a class apart from the metal fossils I own. A very good investment! :2011-08-16 22:51:00

Great watch for the money
My only complaints are the manual and the 'chronograph' feature. I also didn't know before ordering that the small hour dial was not part of the chronograph. Instead, the hour dial just reiterates the hour of the day. The manual did more harm than good for helping me set the watch. Here's a more concise explanation:

Crown and buttons are screw down, first unscrew fully.
Crown out to the mid-way position to adjust date, fully out to adjust time.
In the 'time' position, the top button will zero the second hand for the chronograph feature. The bottom button does nothing, or so I think. (I am not sure how to adjust the minute dial, but mine was zeroed to begin with.)
Screw back down crown and buttons.

Completely disregard the manual. It states you can use the bottom button to switch between adjusting the dials. This was not the case.

The crown has a tendency to rub against the back of my hand at times. Otherwise, the watch fits decently. It's rather lightweight and it looks great. :2011-08-16 22:50:38

Very Suprised
Great watch for the money, I have worn a Rolex Submariner for the last 15 years. I can not believe how close to the weight and bracelet quality this watch is to a Rolex. Did not know what to really expect when I ordered it from amazon, but I am very pleased. The only negative thing I can say about the watch is the hands do not light up very well in the dark. Of course as always Amazon did a great job getting it to me really fast. Order one you won't be sorry. :2011-08-16 22:50:19

Gentleman's Watch
I was in the need for a solid, good looking metal watch and I chose the Invicta 9211... This watch does look great in person and feels real solid and has alot of details from the dial of the watch, the band to even the back of the watch and locking clasp... Invicta just makes a solid watch, and this particular model looks like a very expensive piece... Nice heavy feel to it and a scratch resistant face really helps because im a little clumsy lol... If your in the market for a low cost watch with some style... you have found it!! :2011-08-16 22:49:59

Invicta Men's Speedway Chronograph #9211
The watch arrived in the typical bright yellow Invicta box. A very nice, well constructed box, which provides superb protection. I have always liked Invicta watches and own a Submariner, Off-shore Classic, Ghost Diver and a Women's Submariner for my wife's weekend watch(I own a Rolex Sub, but use the Invicta Sub for daily wear). They are all well constructed watches which keep time as accurately as I need.
I have always admired the Rolex Daytona and recently had a chance to look at the Speedway. This is much more watch than I expected. Like the Sub, it's a near spitting image of the Rolex Daytona. Sure it has a Japanese heart, but so does Seiko, Citizen and a host of others that keep accurate time and are respected timepieces. I've heard that earlier Speedways didn't work like a Rolex. I was told that the second hand would tick off minutes but was not controlled by the chrongraph buttons and that the small center eye was the timer hand for the tachymeter. Poppycock !!! The center eye ticks off each second and the sweep second hand is used as the tachymeter just like it should. The watch components are very well made, the fit and finish are excellent, and it keeps time as good any any other watch. It gets compliments when worn and has the weight one would expect from a quality tachymeter. Enjoy your watch. you won't find a better deal anywhere. :2011-08-16 22:49:33

Better in person than online - nice timepiece
When I ordered this watch I was expecting to get exactly what I paid for....a $95 watch, but what I received far surpassed my expectations. First, the box it came in was ginormous and well protected. Seriously you could have fit 3 or 4 of these watches in that thing, and it included a suede or suede-like polishing cloth as well.

The watch itself was covered in a clear protective film which was easily removed. Upon inspection the first thing I noticed was the face and how it has a very detailed raised background which adds a lot of class to the watch. An additional nice feature is the screw down crown which allows you to "lock" down the dials without worrying about water getting into the watch through the adjustment shafts. Invicta didn't overlook the details here, and it shows.

A quick review of the included guide and I had the second hand adjusted to the 12 o'clock position and it was ready to go. I did have to remove a few links to get it to the proper size, but it was a straightforward process even without the proper tool. If you are unsure how this process works or are nervous that you might scratch the watch, you can purchase a pin removal tool right here on Amazon for about $15 which would surely make the job much easier.

A week later and it hasn't lost any measurable amount of time, so it appears that it is doing exactly what it was designed to do. This watch does use a Japanese movement (indicated by the micro-printing on the face which reads "Japan Movt" at the 6 o'clock position), but the modern Japanese movements are on par with anything the Swiss can make, and in some cases are arguably better - although they don't carry the same veneration as being able to say you have a "Swiss watch".

Admittedly the second hand isn't as smooth as a $3500 watch and it doesn't "sweep" like a Rolex....but honestly what do you expect for around $100? I'm guessing about 99% of the average citizen would have no clue if this was a $100 watch or a $3500 watch - and I'm not about to spend a few extra thousand just to have the name Rolex glued to the face. They both tell time, only this one comes with the added feature of a fat wallet as well.

The stopwatch function is nice, but honestly isn't that valuable. It might be neat to watch the second hand swing back up to 12 when you reset it, but with the exception of testing a speedometer I doubt it would be precise enough for much else. I won't use any of the chronograph functions, but again I believe they add a touch of class to the watch and make it look much more expensive than it is.

The fit and finish as extremely good, and even though I have worn it every day since it arrived and haven't exactly been gentle thus far there isn't a scratch to be found anywhere on the face or even the band. The clasp itself is more of a brushed stainless material which is appreciated since it is the part which comes into contact with hard surfaces most often, and it should be somewhat resistant to scratching.

If I have any complaints at all it would be the embossed "INVICTA" found on the 9 o'clock side of the watch. It isn't that noticeable when worn, but it seems a little representative of a Seiko or Timex....could have done without it. The Invicta logo on the face is very tasteful and well done - not distracting from the rest of the face at all.

All things considered I wouldn't hesitate for a second to purchase another Invicta, and assuming this watch stands up to my usage over the next year or two I most likely will add to my collection. This particular model is nice enough to be worn in a business or formal event but also can be worn with jeans and t-shirts.

The watch itself is a little beefier than what I was coming from, but it hasn't bothered me thus far and even though I have smaller wrists I don't believe it looks too big. However, if you are looking for more of a streamlined timepiece or something which is thin - you won't appreciate the bulkiness of a chronograph or this model in particular.

Update 11/01/10: Over three and a half years later and I am still very happy with this watch. I wear the watch every day and have had no significant issues thus far. I did break a pin which resulted in me losing one of the end links on the band (my fault), but I ordered a replacement band from Amazon which solved the issue (I wrote a separate review for that as well). About a month ago I noticed the second hand on the watch stopped working but the hour and minute hands were still working just fine. I thought the watch was broken, but aside from the second hand everything else seemed ok so I continued to wear it. About a week or ten days later the entire watch stopped, so I replaced the battery and all is well again (including the second hand). The next time I notice the second hand stop, I'll consider it a warning that the battery is about to die on me.

I am considering buying another watch in black, and I'm am putting Invicta at the top of my l :2011-08-16 22:49:13

Another great look-alike
Loving the look of the Rolex Daytona, I spotted this watch on Amazon and just had to have one (at the price).
Arrived in a well padded display box, with all parts of the watch and strap covered in a protective plastic - so no scratches.
Taking out a few links for that custom fit just took a couple of minutes.
The watch looks great - better than the images on the Web - and it works as described.
Other posters that have had issues should read the manual! It does all of the chrono functions, and has full adjustments for hand alignment etc. - Fantastic! :2011-08-16 22:48:47
