Great Attention Grabber I have had this watch for a few months and I can tell you how many compliments Ive had. It is an attention grabber and a HUGE watch - unless you are a big guy, I would not recommend this as it will look silly on you. :2012-04-07 18:17:50
Big, Beautiful INVICTA Has Become My FAVORITE INVICTA Timepiece
I own eight INVICTA watches. The same day I bought the INVICTA Quinotaur Mens 4578 Russian Diver Collection Chronograph Watch; I bought the INVICTA Mens 3449 Corduba Collection Oversized Chronograph Watch, ASIN: B000FVC5NE. The INVICTA Quinotaur Russian Diver Chronograph outpaces the Corduba, and my other INVICTAs, by a mile and 1/2, maybe.
The size - It is a LARGE watch. That is a positive in my book. However, it is certainly a personal preference. If you are hesitant about buying such a large watch, Ill just state that I have a small left wrist and it doesn overpower my arm, so to speak. However, at almost 2 inches in diameter and about 5/8 of an inch thick, it certainly takes up a lot of real estate on your arm. Its a BIG watch, so, as you might expect, the numbers are clear and easy to read. In addition, the hands and dots at each number glow in the dark. Very nice for someone like me: I only take my watch off to shower. The date window is a bit difficult to view because the Chronograph Second Hand covers it up a bit. Not a big deal in my book.
Ive mentioned the size of the case - but it is a beautiful case. The grooved edging on the side is distinctive and on the left side of the case, the INVICTA name looks engraved. The stem for setting the time and date are covered by a screw-off cap. When you screw it off, it doesn get lost because it is attached to the Chronograph lap/reset button with a chain. The buttons for the Chronograph are also very nice. There is a definite click to start/stop or to lap/reset.
The band is also outstanding. It is black rubber just over 7/8 inches thick. There are four round decorative areas on the band - two on each side of the face. These round areas actually spin. Not functional, but fun to play with when sitting in a boring Partners meeting.
I do have one gripe with the pictures of this watch on the Amazon product page:
The watch, as delivered, doesn say SWISS . . . ANYWHERE!
That is my one and only complaint. If youll notice the main picture of this large, stylish watch, at the bottom of the round stainless-steel case it displays the word it looks engraved to me: SWISS. - NOWHERE on the inside dial, the outside case, or elsewhere on the outside of the watch does the word SWISS appear, nor does the watch show a SWISS logo on the back.* Just a bit of false advertising, probably by both Amazon and INVICTA since their names are both in close proximity to one another, in two places, on the printed material that comes with this watch.
* The specs on the Amazon product page do list the movement as being SWISS.

Stunning This is my second Invicta watch, and I must say it is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail and the finish is second to none. My Invicta keeps perfect time. These are not cheap watches, they are quality watches at very reasonable prices. This watch is a masculine watch. It is big, chunky, and oozes recognition. You cannot help but notice it. The machining of the casing is high quality; the band also is very good. The whole watch has a nice weight to it, the buckle is large, and perfectly matches the watch. I personally like the date window because it is big enough to see. If I have one concern over some Invicta watches, it is the size of this window. It seems odd that Invicta build such big watches with small date windows. Nevertheless, Invicta watches keep great time. They are robust, solid, and very well made, and I will certainly be collecting more. Furthermore, I consider myself an astute buyer, and I highly recommend Amazon.com. :2012-04-07 18:17:25
One Big a** watch, This watch is huge!
I love it!
Get tons of complements on it every time I wear it.
Lots of WOW factor!
Keeps great time and looks great. :2012-04-07 18:17:15
wow Huge! Heavy! Beautiful! All around a sweet watch. No complaints coming from me. Exactly what I was looking for. :2012-04-07 18:17:04
i'm happy This watch is as advertised! It is a BIG watch, it is a HEAVY watch. If you have a smaller wrist, it will take it all up and may look a little odd by dwarfing your hand. The quality and feel are very impressive and I like the heft of this watch...one reason I bought it! The band is a little stiff and I seem to like it in the second to last band hole and I have about an 8 in wrist, so, any bigger wrist you may run out of adjustment holes. Again, I can say enough about the quality and feel of this solid watch...Im very impressed...especially coupled with the price! Shipping was extremely fast with Amazon and this was my very first purchase with Invicta and Amazon and am glad to say pleased with both. If your on the fence with this watch, go ahead and get it, you won be disappointed. :2012-04-07 18:16:53
this looks really cool when i recieved this watch it came in the black box, upon opening the box i was impressed again by the beauty, size, and the attention to detail.this watch does not carry the weight that my reserve venom does, but it is a rugged, handsome, killer of a watch.ive waited a couple of weeks to write a review so i could comment on the performance and so far no complaints,it is comfortable to wear and the lumes are very bright in the darkness.while talking with some co-workers their eyes were following my hand movements, which i did
t understand at that moment, then one asked man where did you get that big pretty watch?.even the ladies admire it. :2012-04-07 18:16:42
Heavy duty beautiful watch Just received my Invicta Russian diver 4578, saw pictures of this watch and just had to have it. I love a really big watch and this does not disappoint. The watch is very well made and surprizingly compfortable on the wrist, i have never had a rubber strap watch and was worried about it not feling good but i was wrong it does not stick to your wrist at all.
If you like the look of this watch i would not hesitate to buy it and at $125 its a steal!!! Have only worn it out for a day and already received numerous compliments. This watch is BIG, i am going from a Breitling 49mm so it is not a big change and for $125 it will be my daily beater watch.
I read through all the reviews on here and it seeems like everyone loved it so i gave it a try and am VERY happy i did. The only bad reviews were people complaining it was too big. If you are buying a 52mm watch guess what? ITS GONNA BE BIG!!! :2012-04-07 18:16:29
huge watch Im telling you the watch is huge. Meters and millimeter are hard to understand when you
e an American. It measures two and a half inches across. Its like a stopwatch with a strap. Somewhat uncomfortable. But Im getting used to it. This watch is nice. Heavy and well made. I think it will work for what its intended for - snorkeling and casual attire. But be careful in the sun because it may block all the rays. :2012-04-07 18:16:16
HUUUUGE I friend of mine got one of these and I couldn help but notice it since its is probably the biggest watch Ive ever seen. Very cool looking though and big watches are in right now. He had the one with the blue face and its pretty sharp looking. Given the weight I don doubt that its very solidly constructed.
Keep in mind that when they say this is a divers watch, they
e not talking scuba divers. They
e talking deep sea divers with those big gigantic suits and helmets. I don think those guys would have much use for a watch like this but who knows. Its certainly big and bulky just like the suits they wear.
My only issue with this watch would be the crown cover. Other watchmakers have screw down crowns where the threads are built into the crown itself and no cover is needed. The cover here is simply a fashion device which is fine, but it sticks out so far that when I tried the watch on, it dug into the back of my wrist. Not a huge detraction as it adds quite a bit to the look of the watch and I have small wrists, but something for potential owners to keep in mind. You might want to try this sucker on before you buy one.
Maybe also keep in mind that its super heavy. You might want to find a counter weight for your other wrist to keep your arms evenly bulked up and perhaps even prevent back pain from being so lopsided. Ok, maybe thats a little over the top, but its a big heavy watch.
Its definitely something cool that gets attention. :2012-04-07 18:16:05
Lots of comments I fell in love with this watch and got it for Christmas 2009. I love big watches and this one is definitely BIG. But... while heavy in the hand does not feel heavy on my wrist. Ive had lots of people ask me about it. Some comment on the size because they seem to think it must be so heavy to wear. Ive told them I barely notice it when I wear it. Its easy to read and looks great. I can see my Invicta watches are so popular. :2012-04-07 18:15:50
Phenomenal Watch This watch is fantastic. As the proud owner of another 7 Invicta watches, this is definitely one of my favorites. I use this watch as my Daily Beater because I know that it can take a hit and only look more rugged. The watch is large and is perfectly comfortable, despite the size, that I happen to prefer. The strap is great and firm, yet flexible enough to remove and put on the watch with ease. This review was easy and I am confident that this awesome time piece deserves 5 stars. :2012-04-07 18:15:40
Big and flashy I wouldn be able to wear this if it was any bigger. The design and size got me interested. Im very happy with the purchase. :2012-04-07 18:15:30
HOT i love this watch it amazes so many people and looks more expensive than what i paid, i love how loud it is on my wrist when sunshine hits it. it keeps great time and date just not the brightest in the dark you just have to make sure you worn it in bright light before you go in darkness otherwise you wont know the time, but besides that i love this watch and im glad invicta made a watch that stands out to be different than all these other big face watches, i will try to collect as many as i can because the are worth the money! :2012-04-07 18:15:18
Lovin' it I am woman...solid and tall. I have always preferred mens watches because of their sheer size. As for watches, I have only one motto: The bigger, the better. I was not disappointed when I received this one. Its pretty huge and bold. I have received quite a few compliments for it...I was so smitten by it that I ordered the red one. I can only mention two caveats: the band is really stiff and the turning screw sometimes digs at my writ. Overall,I would totally recommend it. :2012-04-07 18:15:08
I do not think this watch is big enough...NOT OK so we all know by now that this is a big watch. Now I am going to talk about the extremely smooth and accurate chronograph movement; next I am going to mention the craftsmanship and finally the comfort for its size. All of these attributes I just mentioned of this watch are superb. The looks as far as a fashion statement reek masculinity. I love this time piece and everything about it. Get yours soon you will not regret it. :2012-04-07 18:14:56
A show stopper I first saw this watch on Amazon and fell in love. Even though i knew it was gonna be big, its bigger in person. thats what she said But seriously, I am a smaller guy 510 170 lbs. and this thing is always a conversation starter. You get used to the weight and size of the watch, which grows on you and you begin to love it. I try on other smaller watches and it just doesn feel right now. The best part, I go diving with it all the time now too. Down to 100 foot dives and it still tickin like a champ. I highly recommend Invictas, especially the russian divers. :2012-04-07 18:14:47
It is huge!! This is a really Huge and heavy watch... Great for everyday use although it could be a little uncomfortable at times in the office due to its size.
Don even doubt that everyone in the room will notice it, maybe even with the lights off! If you have a strong and dominant personallity, this is the watch for you!!
It fits great into my collection of Kinetics, Wengers and Stuhrlings. :2012-04-07 18:14:37
If you like to collect watches, this is a MUST-HAVE This is a stunningly beautiful watch. The craftsmanship and quality are of very high standards. First thing I noticed when I opened the yelllow gift box was that all of the stainless steel is covered with clear protective peel off stickers that leave no residue whatsoever none. The crystal obviously is covered as well. The toughest part was getting the tightly wound clear adhesive that was wrapped around the small chain that connects from the crown to the bottom button. I found that small surgical scissors worked well for that task. Once everything was peeled away and I took a good look at the watch, I was amazed. The stainless steel is flawless with no imperfections whatsoever. I also noticed this watch is very heavy, which I like. And the case is huge. If you like attention, you will certainly get it, wearing this. People are just drown to it due to its sheer size. This is not a watch for the timid. The watch is very comfortable to wear. The stainless steel pieces that are interlaced in the wristband, provide a nice contrast adding visual appeal. I stared at the beauty of this watch for several minutes before I opened the manual. Its like a piece of art. I like watches that are easy to read and the numbers on this watch are so crisp making it easy on the eyes. One of the interesting things I learned while reading about this chronograph watch is that the Constant primary second hand is actually located at the 3 oclock inner indicator and is NOT the thinnist and longest second hand normally found in most watches. Instead, the thinnest second hand on this watch is primarily used for the stopwatch features. Technically, you could leave the stopwatch on continaully if you wish and it could serve as your primary second hand if you choose. In fact, at first I thought the watch was broke because the biggest and thinnest hand wasn moving. Good thing I read the manual. Again, the primary constant second hand is in the 3 oclock inner dial. The 6 oclock inner dial provides the 10th of a seconds while using the stopwatch feature and the the 9 oclock inner dial counts the stopwatch minutes elapsed. Underneath the 12 oclock is the date of the month which is small but still readable under normal lighting conditions. Once your watch gets a significant amount of light, the hour and minute hands as well as the tiny light green circles around the watch, glow in the dark nicely. This is now without question my favorite watch. Simple but elegant and the perfect all around watch. Nice enough to wear to a nice black tie affair but yet still casual enough when wearing jeans when watching sports or a night out having drinks with friends. It just goes with just anything. The watcth feels very well put together and solid. The only thing I question is the chain. I don hate it. It looks cool. I just wonder if it will scratch the crown or case jiggling around. So, Im undecided on that but will leave it there for now. Probably the only reason it is on their is to prevent you from losing the crown cover should you drop it and lose it. But thats minor. In fact, Im sure any qualified jeweler could probably remove it, if it was a big issue for you. Actually its so small I don really even feel the chain at all when wearing it. This is now my favorite watch and now will be my everyday watch except on a few rare occasions where something else may be better suited. In fact, on appearance, I would take this watch over any Cartier, Rolex, Citizen, Seiko, Movado, ESQ, or Tag H, any day of the week. However, the true test is how well is the accuracy of the watch. I just got it, so I cant comment on that aspect yet. But I just set it to the US Atomic Clock, and I will check it against that in 30 days Im not looking forward to getting my first ding or scratch on this watch. It is that awesome. This watch is a must have for any guy over 200 lbs and at least 6 ft tall. Makes a guy in his 30 or 40s feel like he is 17 again. :2012-04-07 18:14:27
A Lot of Wow Factor at This Price Point The Invicta Russian Diver Quinotaur 4578, named after the Greek Myth, a bullish sea monster with five horns, retails for $675. Amazon sells it for $250.
Featuring a swiss-movement, rubber strap with silver stainless steel cylinders, and a 52 mm bezel 58 mm if you include the crown, the Quinotaur is a large, bold watch. I recommend this size watch for men with wrists at least 7.5 inches. My wrists are slightly more than 8 inches and I use the straps third punch hole. Men Ive talked to who are about 6 feet and in the 200-230 range usually make a good fit for this watch.
The watch feels very comfortable and has solid, well-built feel. Theres nothing cheap about the materials.
If you
e looking for Wow Factor without being garish, this watch fits the bill very well.
I do have a slight dislike for the little chain that dangles between the crown and the bezel and Im tempted to have a jeweler remove it, if thats possible.
In terms of bang for your buck, the Quinotaur gets high marks. I like the Nixon 51-30 series, which sell on eBay for $300-330 with metal strap. For about $100 less, the Quinotuar delivers a lot of wow.
It feels good wearing it. I feel bigger, younger, more muscular. My bench press is up these days. Im happy to help my neighbors carry a sofa up a flight of stairs. Im back to popping off beer bottle caps with my teeth. No steroids. Just a manly watch. :2012-04-07 18:14:14
